IMPORTANT: This accessory (carrier) is needed for the adjustable slicer (3200-650) or the adjustable french-fry slicer (3200-651). When I was shpooing for this around Dec 2010, the adjustable slicer piece was very hard to find.
I use this insert along with the adjustable slicer blade. It allows you to change the heighth of the slice by rotating the dial on the carrier. I highly recommend it. It is well made and allows a wide range in the size of each slice.
